Ohoopee River, Tattnall County

As I’ve noted before, the Ohoopee is one of Georgia’s most pristine and peaceful rivers. It’s often difficult to navigate as water levels are generally very low, so motorized traffic is kept at a minimum. This sandbar is located upriver from the Tattnall County Landing on land that is very near the Big Hammock Natural Area. The confluence of the Ohoopee and Altamaha Rivers is no more than three miles from here.

Pretty shot with the mist rising over the water. Love the Ohoopee.
