Willis James Store, Argyle
Abandoned General Store (Perspective)
While I was in Argyle, a lady passing by told me that she grew up in the town and when she was a young girl, this store sold everything from kerosene to live chickens, and everything in between.
And a million thanks to Brenda Herrin for pointing out that I had this labeled as Manor. I go through here often, but this is the part of Georgia where there are more trees than people, and considering the number of photographs I make, errors like this occur. It’s a reminder we’re all still human, thank goodness! Oh, and thanks to Walter Hughes for identifying the location. His grandfather Willis H. James owned the store and he was born and grew up in the house right behind it.
