This style of house was once among the most common designs in Georgia and quite a few survive in varying states of repair, especially in the eastern part of the state. Thanks to John Rabun and Ben Dooley for their information on the architectural style. I often confuse this style with the so-called Cracker I-House, which is essentially the same style but without the front and rear slant-roofed porches. And of course, Plantation Plain sounds better, I suppose.
