Stevens-Snider House, Circa 1904, Putnam
This house was built by Putnam Stevens, the namesake of the community, and was purchased by Charlie Snider sometime thereafter. Virginia Stiltner writes that the Stevens’ son died here after injuries sustained during the construction, because of the home’s distance from medical care and that the owners built an exact replica (which still stands today) on 2nd Street in nearby Buena Vista. Georgia Backroads editor Dan Roper has a nice feature about it in the current (Autumn 2011) issue of the magazine.
