The architecture of this structure, especially the keystone arch window and door treatments, suggest this once served as a school. According to Shawn Rhodes, it was most recently used as the home of Snow Hill Church (early 1980s – 2003).

There are great old buildings restored in varying degrees by local son Delano Braziel and other concerned folk. Pitts may never be a thriving railroad town as it once was, but it’s definitely worth driving a little out of the way to find. Spend an hour or so walking around with your camera and you’ll return.
