This fertlizer warehouse was owned by Mr. Grady Gibbs.
Back when I was a kid in the 70’s, I remember many of the farmers pronounced guano as “gu-anna”.
I also keep thinking that one branch of the Gibbs family (long time residents of the area) or some relations to them owned the building.
Great photos. Ironically, I have taken similar photos myself over the last few years.
I don’t remember the name of the man who owned it but I remember going with my daddy to get guano, as he called fertilizer back then, from this store. The last I heard, my brother has hay stored in this building.
