I wish I’d been able to get a better photograph of this man, who could often be found selling boiled peanuts, grapes and watermelons in a parking lot near the courthouse in downtown Valdosta. He was always smiling and waved when you passed by his truck.
My grandmother currently lives in Valdosta and this truck still comes through her neighborhood.
I’d like to photograph him again…what area can he usually be found in? I’m in Valdosta a lot…
He used to go to Saunders park on weekends.
Seeing that photo brings back old memories, I used to sell fresh boiled peanuts in Alma, Ga. 5 cents for a little 1/4 lb. bag during WWII when I was about 13/14 years of age.
Quite a few young soldiers from Fort Stewart would come to Alma on Saturday’s during the summer time.

Very good ,how would it look in B&W ?
Thanks, Phil. I think it would do okay in black and white. I’d really like to get a better shot, but I took this while I was waiting at the traffic light by the courthouse…
