This Neoclassical courthouse was designed by the Atlanta firm of Morgan & Dillon and built by W. T. Jay of Shellman. The courthouse shows a date on the frieze of 1904, but all sources I located on this date it to 1905. I’m unsure as to the reason for the discrepancy but I presume that it was scheduled for completion in 1904 but that somehow got delayed.
