I was born in Dawson GA in 1937 in a two story home there on Lee Street. My Father (K.W. Haines was manager of the Georgia Power Company there for 25 years. I lived on Johnson Street just across from the Cobbs who owned the Ford Dealership there. I went to Terrell High School, played basketball, cheer leader for the Football and boy’s basketball team. Shirley Harpe and I won the State Tennis Doubles Championship in May of 1953. I married in the summer at First Baptist Church on Church St, the place that I found out who Jesus, my Lord and Saviour was and is. It will always be “Home” for me.
