I’ve bought several lots in Aline this year and was trying to buy that old commissary building next to Bills Grocery but from what I understand someone is taking it apart board by board to be re-planed and sold into the multi-million dollar housing market in large cities. The floor inside is already gone and I was wanting to put back a plywood floor at least and make it a good building again…talking with the older folks who remain in the area that building had a lot of history including being a movie theatre for people back when movies were silent and one lady told me that when one movie came one time that had sound that the theatre just about became empty as noone ever thought there would be sound on a movie… Tried to buy the building and still working on it but owner just wants to have a spot of land in that town but has sold the building to another person who is planning on tearing it the rest of the way down..
