Jesse Bookhardt writes: In years past, the A. J. Lowery Western Auto business was the kind of place where you could buy about anything you wanted . These kinds of stores have pretty much been replaced by the “big box” stores now days but memories remain. They sold bikes, Wizard outboard motors, certain car parts, tires, and a ton of other useful things. This store was open when I made this photograph but closed soon thereafter, in 2014.

My dad owned a Western Auto Store back in the 60’s and 70’s, in Batavia, Ohio. I grew up in the store and remember great times and people. I am now collecting wizard products and signs. If you know of any please contact me at gs85retired@yahoo.com. Thanks

I grew up visiting this Western Auto when A.J.’s dad owned this store. It was there beside the store my uncle Bud Bohannon managed, Dowlings Furniture! My first bike was bought there it was a Westerm Flyer! Across the street was Wilsons Hardware, wow, what a trip down memory lane. Thanks!
