Like other “Hardshell” churches in the region, the interior is as plain as the exterior.

The entrance gate (unique among these churches) is dedicated to the memory of James O., Sr., and N. Gertrude Jacobs Smith.

The cemetery is relatively small with burials dating to the early 20th century.

Could you please notify me of who is maintaining the cemetery and church at this time. My mother has been there for 26 years and I have never seen her gravesite look so unattended

This is where my family is buried. If you would like more information my Mama can possibly help you.

HI BRIAN, Great photos as usual, but here you outdid yourself in showing the utter simplicity yet quiet elegance of this old church. Sure hope it is maintained for future generations. Some of my relatives were hardshell Baptists and they were a fiercely jealous people of their own privacy, but especially their worship of God in the most basic manners. THANKS
