Wynn Peanut & Shelling, Sycamore

Wynn Peanut Sycamore GA Turner County Photograph Copyright Brian Brown Vanishing South Georgia USA 2014

This nice old warehouse and the garage seen in the next post were among the first places I photographed for Vanishing South Georgia six years ago. They haven’t changed much since then.

My dad actually worked at the garage in the 40’s and I think the 50’s as well.

  2. In Arabi, Ga on 441 there was an old white house that had a unique Victorian archetecture and green octagonal shingles. I loved it, but in recent years, trees and bushes are blocking the view from 441. It has been 3-4 years since I have been by it and perhaps it is no longer there. It is on the north side of town on the west side of the road.

  3. I enjoy seeing your posts very much. I grew up in Forsyth, Georgia, but left at seventeen.  This brings back many memories.  I was in business school in Atlanta with a girl from Sycamore by the name of Beulah (Bootsie) Denham.  Her family owned a farm there.  Just wondered if you knew the family. Great work,  Ann Stuart Roberson
