Rob White writes: The white building just visible in on the left side of the photo was once Chance & Hopkins Chevrolet. The “ghost’ of the lettering is still visible on one of the showroom windows. On the right end was a filling station that operated as a gas station until some point in the late 80’s and into the 90’s.

    Alexander is so close to Waynesboro, There is an old house once owned by the Shumake’s in the 1800’s. It’s barely seen from the road, but the locals can show you..
