When I lived in this neighborhood, I admired this house more than any other in the area. Cameille Carter-Pinder writes: My Grandfather had this house built in 1913. He went to Atlanta and saw the same house and fell in love with it and asked the people that owned it if he could get the plans for the house from them. He did and came back to Tifton and had the house built. He was J.L. Brooks and owned Brooks Drug store.

Curious to know if the house in Atlanta is still standing

Thank you so much for this information, Cameille. I will update it now.
This is my favorite historic home in Tifton. I drive by it every Sunday on my way home from church. It is especially beautiful at Christmas.
Don’t remember the address. Someone please tell me where the house was in Tifton.
North Central Avenue…don’t know the exact address.
Thanks. I remember it now. Just couldn’t place it.
The house is at 10th and Central. Still there. Still gorgeous!
I went to a Christmas party here several years ago. It is decorated beautifully. It looks as if Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers might be meeting Nick and Nora Charles for cocktails any evening.
I believe this was the long time residence of one of my mother’s favorite bridge playing partners, Lewis Underwood.
