Wescoloski-Bryan House, Circa 1850, Riddleville

Built by an early Jewish merchant in Washington County, this house was sold to Stephen T. Jordan in 1867; subsequent owners were descendants of Jordan, including Lurian Jordan Fulgham, William Henry Fulgham, and Mr. & Mrs. John Y. Bryan. It remains largely unchanged from its original appearance.

One of my favorite exterior designs, I love the symmetry. Would love to know the floor plan and to see exterior shots from the sides and back. I have always wanted to build a house in this style with a porta-cohere and a detached garage.

Brian: I think this is the Bryan house that a friend of mine was brought up in. Unfortunately, he’s dead, but I’m sending it to his wife.

Happy to say I’m headed to St. Simons tomorrow, just in time to go south during a cold snap up here.–eeb
