Tilework like this graced the entrances of most important commercial buildings in the first decade of the 2oth century, especially banks. This one is a bit unusual in that it denotes the date of construction instead of the name of the business.
This church was located beside Chokee Creek. As of 2015, I’m not sure if it’s still standing.
