This eclectic house seems to symbolize the fortunes of Millwood, like so many other railroad towns that dried up as soon as the business did. At one time, the railroad siding here was a busy hub but today the trains just speed by on their way into Rice Yard in nearby Waycross.
The overall appearance of the house is Neoclassical, but other elements make it an eclectic style popular in the late 19th and early-20th centuries. It’s a truly massive structure and luckily, neighbors seem to keep an eye on it. It would be a wonderful restoration project.
